National Acolyte Festival 2010
Washington National Catherdral
Mt. Zion Acolyte Corps
An Acolyte is defined as a follower,
attendant or one who serves a member of
the clergy in a liturgical service. The Acolyte
Corps of Mt. Zion is designed to teach
young people how to live a life of service,
not only to their church but to their
community.

The 7th and 8th Grade Confirmation
students are required to participate in the
program for two years.  After their time is
completed, many go on to serve the church
in other ways, including helping with Sunday
School or becoming ushers.
